DNS is integrated with Active Directory

DNS Server Properties

  • Forwarders - Forwarders are DNS servers that this server can use to resolve DNS queries for records that this server cannot resolve
  • Advanced Server option
    • Disable recursion (also disables forwarders)
    • Enable round robin
  • Root Hints
    • A.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. - M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET.

Forward Lookup Zones

  • Forward Lookup Zones\corp.alphabook.cn\_tcp
    • _gc
    • _kerberos
    • _kpasswd
    • _ldap

Reverse Lookup Zones

  • 0.16.172.in-addr.arpa

Conditional Forwarders

  • For specific DNS Domain, the DNS queries wiil forward to the corresponding DNS server

  • A or AAAA
  • Alias (CNAME)
  • Mail Exchanger (MX)
  • Pointer (PRT)
  • Service Location (SRV)
    • _autodiscover._tcp.corp.alphabook.cn
